FIG. 03 — LAST VERIFIED SIGHTINGLiam doesn’t perform calm. He just is calm — which, in this band, reads like a superpower. He’ll make a joke at the exact moment the tension peaks. You’ll laugh. The tension will still be there. That was also the joke.
Out of Provo, Utah — well-versed in board-anything, which is how the band exists at all: when Jake’s first snowboard run came screaming toward the ski lift at Wolf Mountain, Liam read it early and dodged. He survives sumYOUman the same way, by calm anticipation. The rational anchor — which means he’s the first one to know when something’s wrong, and the last one to say so.
The rational anchor — the one who checks the gear, the tapes and the timestamps before anyone says the word “signal”. He has personally debunked eleven of the band’s anomalies. He does not talk about the twelfth.
What he believes: “Somebody has to keep receipts. If it’s real, the receipts will show it. If it’s not, the receipts will save us.”
Brown denim, one strap always hanging on the left. Nothing flashy — that would defeat the purpose.
A rectangular pendant on a cord necklace. He’s never explained it. Nobody’s laughing when they ask.
Celtic knotwork down the left side of his neck. Predates the band. That’s all he’ll say.
His riff opened the first record.
The title is his whole personality.
The only lyric he’s ever asked to rewrite.
“I’ve ruled out everything except the thing I can’t rule out.”
